Acne is one of most common afflictions around today, much more common than the common cold, because it lasts so much longer. Acne is essentially a plugged or clogged pore. Greasy secretions build up under your skin and plug the pores (or openings) for hair follicles. If it is a large opening, then you get blackheadsif it is a smaller opening, it will be a whitehead. Both types can turn into inflamed and swollen inflammations, which are usually called pimples.
